How I Lost Weight WITHOUT CARDIO (50+ lbs!)


I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned this to you before or not, but I really am not a big fan of cardio as a form of exercise or weight loss. In fact, I’ve lost over 50 lbs 3 different times after having babies without adding any cardio routine into my fitness plan. Don’t get me wrong I’ve done my fair share of 5ks and mud runs, walks, bike rides, HIIT, swimming, and sprints in my day.

But overall, me and cardio don’t really jive well. I try to do as little as I can lol.
And, by cardio, I mean running on a treadmill or biking or running stairs or generally doing something on a machine at the gym purely to raise my heart rate so I can burn calories.

For the longest time, though, I thought that cardio was the only way to lose weight. I mean it’s all about calories in versus calories out, right?

In this guide, I’ll lead you by the hand and show you what you can do today, to start losing weight and keeping it off….FOR GOOD! I’m not going to mess around here. So, follow me, and I’ll show you EXACTLY how men’s weight loss really works.

Step 1 Set Your Goals, Commit To Achieve, And Track Your Progress. (0:52)

The first step on any weight loss for men over 40 journey should be Mindset. One of the biggest mistakes I see is guys that want to lose weight jumping straight into exercise and diet without understanding exactly why they’re doing it or having clear goals or an action plan for what they want to achieve. Building sustainable, healthy habits takes a bit of planning.

The way we help you plan for your weight loss journey is to get you to prepare a weightloss mission statement that lets you reflect on your deep reason for wanting to lose weight. This gives you a better understanding of why you’re doing it and serves you well at times when motivation may wain. Use this first step to set yourself up for sustainable weight loss.

Step 2 Get Your Body In The Proper State For Optimum Fat Loss. (2:59)

To get your body in the proper state to metabolize and burn fat, there are a couple of things you should make sure to do on a daily basis. These are sleeping a minimum of 7 hours each night and drinking a minimum of 100oz (around 3 liters) of water per day. Doing these 2 things will ensure your hormone levels are balanced and your liver is primed to process fat.

Step 3 Fuel Your Body Right For Energy And Fat Burning. (4:12)

Getting the correct fuel into your body is the next stage when learning how to lose weight fast for men. This is often where guys start when getting on a weight loss plan, by simply eating salad and cutting out chocolate. This will work for a while but is not a sustainable solution. What I recommend, is to put together ‘perfect plates’ for each meal. A ‘perfect plate’ contains ¼ plate of protein, ¼ plate of carbs, and ½ plate of veggies. This makes your nutrition simple and sustainable over the longterm.

Step 4 Do 30 Minutes Of Daily Activity To Kickstart Your Weight Loss. (5:54)

The ‘A’ in our acronym of MMFAT, stands for ACTIVITY. This means basically moving and being active for at least 30 minutes each day. I’m not talking about formal workouts, just basic activity. To achieve this, you could use a pedometer and ensure you get around 5,000 steps on a daily basis, or you could simply walk for 30 minutes after your lunch each day.

Thirty minutes of daily activity also has a big impact on hunger. If you’re active for 30 minutes every day, you’re less likely to be hungry and therefore less likely to snack. The 30 minutes is what is known as the daily activity threshold, which makes your hunger levels stay much more level throughout the day.

Step 5 Use Formalized Workouts To Further Ignite Your Metabolism. (7:08)

Last on my list of ways to lose weight for men over 40, is Timed Workouts. This is your formal exercise routine, over and above the 30 minutes of basic activity each day, and is to help you build muscle and further improve your metabolism. These workouts can be a mixture of HighIntensity Interval Training (HIIT) and strength training. This combination will give you a huge boost to your metabolism and improve your overall fitness.

How to Lose Weight Fast Without Dieting - 3 Simple Tips

5 WORST WAYS TO LOSE WEIGHT!!


If you are trying to lose weight you will definitely want to make sure you’re not wasting your time. In this video, I’m going to show you the 5 worst ways to attempt to lose weight and keep it off. The irony is that many of these are the most popular methods that people use when trying to lose fat and change the way their body looks.

We start by addressing the obsession people have with training their abs as their sole method of losing belly fat. This drives me crazy. There is no ab workout in the world that is going to allow you to lose fat simply by performing it. I don’t care how great the ab exercises are that you choose, you just cannot do enough of them to make a meaningful impact on your weight loss.

That said, many people opt for a few quick ab workouts a week as a low commitment option for losing weight. They think, if I can just get rid of this belly a little bit at least I’ll be happy about that. I can always opt for a more rigorous and complete workout program when I feel like I’ve started to see results from the ab workouts alone. It doesn’t work that way. Unless you have a way to get rid of the fat that is covering up your ab muscles and employ other methods of losing weight, you will never see the results of your work.

So that brings us to cardio. Many have heard and maybe even tried using cardio before as a way to lose weight. They will jump on an elliptical machine, treadmill, or bike at the gym and glide, run and pedal away for hours hoping to amass enough calories burned to make a giant dent in their fat loss efforts. The problem is, none of these methods are effective if you don’t get your nutrition in check as well.

So many times people play for the tie when it comes to exercise. They burn some calories by spending an hour on the treadmill and then proceed to screw it all up by not watching the food they put in their mouths over the remaining 23 hours in the day. When it is all said and done, most forms of cardio produce around 500 calories burned (depending on the condition of the person doing it, age, bodyweight and intensity) in a given workout. This can all be undone with a single slice of pepperoni pizza and it just underscores the fact that you won’t be able to outrun a bad diet.

Speaking of diet, don’t even get me started. Resorting to the newest diet fad as a way for you to lose weight is a recipe for failure. Even if you are able to deprive your body of something you enjoy for long enough to result in a few pounds lost, you likely won’t be able to sustain it long term. And that’s the thing, the only form of weight loss that I believe is meaningful is the one you can make and sustain for the rest of your life.

This is where it becomes vital that you find a method of eating that works for you forever. If it is keto, or some other form of diet, so be it. As long as you can maintain the discipline and that the method is conducive to a long term permanent approach, then it will work. Just be careful of using any nutritional strategy that promises short term impact without the promise of long term adherence.

So you probably can figure out by now that I prefer using weights as my method of building lean muscle tissue that is more metabolically active and calorie consuming at rest (which will help you to lose weight and keep it off more permanently). The problem is, not all forms of weightlifting exercises are the same. For example, take a clean, thruster and concentration curl. The clean, while functional and athletic, is not necessarily the best place for a beginner to start since the highly technical aspect of this Olympic lift is not one that is easy to master without sufficient practice.

Finally, the mindset you have with any approach trumps everything. If you bring the same mindset to a new approach as you did in your previous failed attempts at losing weight then you are bound to fail again. You must approach your new endeavor with a new attitude. You have to learn from your mistakes in the past and realize what made you not follow through and vow to not let that happen again.

Welcome to the guided meditation for weight loss. Achieving the healthy body that you deserve requires positivity and determination as well as a healthy lifestyle change. Use this meditation to help support you in this, as you progress on your path towards achieving your weight loss goals!

Bringing yourself into a comfortable sitting or lying position…

Making any adjustments necessary to ensure that you are able to relax and remain still for the duration of the practice…

When you feel settled, lightly closing your eyes.

Become aware of the rhythm and flow of your natural breath….

Feel it as it moves through your whole body…

Watching your breath from the moment it enters your nostrils, flowing down to your belly, to the moment it exits once more…

Begin to notice how with each exhalation you body is becoming more and more relaxed….

It is as though with each exhalation you are releasing all the tension out with the breath…

Feeling all the tension that you have been holding onto slowly melting away….

Benefits such as confidence… Better health… More energy…. Feeling happier…..

As well as the pride and satisfaction from achieving your goals….

You have made the first step.. The choice to make change…

And as you progress towards your own success you can feel that all these benefits are within your grasp…

Losing weight and keeping it off requires making healthy lifestyle choices that are both rewarding and enjoyable….

As you observe the fitness goals you have for yourself, take a moment to consider the obstacles that have been preventing you from achieving these goals so far?

Perhaps you struggle with difficult emotions? Such as anxiety, boredom, frustration, stress, loneliness or depression….
